Letter: Response to Dr Isaac Newton

LettersDr Newton:

For some time now I have been following your articles on the Caribbean Net News, and I am still trying to figure out where you stand on the things which you are writing about because to me you are so helter-skelter and you don’t make any decision on anything for the people of Antigua and Barbuda to see and respond to, you make it look like everything in Antigua and Barbuda is A-Okay when the things down there are all hybrid or they are mongrel.

You must tell the people the true state of things there. Just state the truth and quit hiding behind your titles because of what you are presenting without any commitment to the truth of what is really going on is good for nothing, I know you are not getting it because I know down at the Oaks and at Andrews they did not teach you like that. We should always speak and stand for the truth, though the heavens fall. We should not be in bed with the world, be in the world but not of the world.

My brother, it is incumbent on you and I and many more who are blessed with the privilege of obtaining a higher quality of education, please let us use it to God's glory, and in closing let me leave you with these words of cynical materialism: “Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, who draw sin as with cart ropes, who say let him speed his work that we may see it; let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near, and let it come, that we may know it. This verse is for the perversion of the standards of morality,

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter, [This verse is for those who show Intellectual pride and self-sufficiency,]

”Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight”-Isa-5: 18---20

My brother, the time has come for you to take a stand on the side of truth and don’t be fearful.

P Browne
